Candidate for East Central Director

Becky Feigh <ecdirector@gspca.org>

Allow me to re-introduce myself to the members. My name is Becky Feigh and I have served as the GSPCA East Central Director since 2018.

I currently reside in Carmel, Indiana with my husband and 2 German Shorthaired Pointers. My husband and I have been GSPCA members since 1998. My professional background consists of being a Senior Project Manager for a large civil & environmental engineering firm managing large construction projects throughout the Midwest.

In my spare time, I am active in AKC Hunt Tests, Conformation, Obedience, Rally, and Scent Work. I am proud to say I personally handle and train my own dogs in all of these events. Some good successes and some not so good outcomes but always fun! That is the beauty of our breed- keeping us on our toes. In the past I was very active with our local 4-H County Dog Project as one of the Showmanship Leaders for 20 years and in 2019 I obtained my provisional status to judge AKC All-breed Junior Showmanship. Recently I was asked to join the Hoosier Kennel Club which provides another opportunity to support the local dog enthusiast community.

Besides representing the East Central section on Board matters, I currently serve as the GSPCA BOD Liaison for the National Executive Show Committee (NSSEC), Registry of Merit (ROM), Meet The Breeds and the Website. Other GSPCA duties include serving as one of the GSPCA Junior Coordinators, participating on the GSPCA Junior’s Committee and organizing Junior events in conjunction with the National Specialty Show.

I have worked closely with the NSSEC over the years to help prepare event budgets and follow through to ensure adherence to meet the NSSEC event financial goals. Serving as a board member is not always easy with financial responsibilities to consider for a not-for-profit organization. I have also actively participated in BOD discussions on ways to improve the overall financial position of the club and ways to take advantage of new technologies to streamline the flow of information.

I am committed to being an active and engaged board member, to ensure the GSPCA by-laws are followed while activity promoting this exceptional breed. I am prepared to continue with the energy necessary to support the GSPCA’s important work-preserving the health and welfare of this wonderful breed. I want to continue to be the voice for my region and be able to bring comments, questions or concerns from my regional members and Local Clubs to the GSPCA Board. I would welcome the opportunity to again represent the East Central Section- Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee and would greatly appreciate your support!
