This pair of horses is 17″ tall and weighs a little over 50 pounds.
The artist is Nan Cavener Jacobsohn. She is know for her stylized big butt horses, beautiful clay animal masks carried by the River Gallery in Chattanooga, and for being the mother of world famous sculptor, Beth Cavener.
She uses processes to give earthy non shiny finishes. The oak leaf stem is the gate symbolizes all that ties us to another is frail and we stay together because we want to.
