Applying for the Title

The Top Title: Versatility Excellent (VCX)

This is the “original” GSPCA program. It is not point based like VC and VCA, and requires a dog to achieve three titles from the following rows:

  • Champion (CH)
  • Master Hunter (MH) OR Master Hunter Retrieving (MHR)
  • Amateur Field Champion (AFC) OR Field Champion (FC)
  • Utility Dog (UD) OR Preferred utility Dog (PUTD) OR Rally Advanced Excellent Three (RAE3) OR Distinguished Therapy Dog (THDD)
  • Master Agility Excellent (MX) OR Master Agility Excellent Preferred (MXP) OR Master Excellent Jumpers with Weaves (MXJ) OR Master Excellent Jumpers With Weaves Preferred (MXJP) OR (Flyball) ONYX (ONYX)
  • Tracking Dog Excellent (TDX) OR Variable Surface Tracker (VST) OR Search and Rescue Urban (SAR-U) OR Search and Rescue Wilderness (SAR-W)

Note:  If one of the three categories is not Field (FC/AFC) or Hunt (MH/MHR) then the GSP must also earn at least one point from the Hunt or Field Categories (the GSPCA RD and RDX certifications will be accepted)

The Other Titles: Versatility Certificate (VC) and
Versatility Certificate Advanced (VCA)

SEVEN CATEGORIES, PICK AND CHOOSE: [ CLICK HERE FOR CHART ]

At least one point must come from the Field or Hunt Categories (the GSPCA RD and RDX certifications will be accepted).

The GSPCA VCA award requires 11 points from 4 of the 7 areas, including at least TWO 4 point or higher achievements from two different categories. At least one point must come from the Field or Hunt Categories (the GSPCA RD and RDX certifications will be accepted). Points can be earned from any of the 7 categories.
